About us

Regional laboratory medicine is part of Sahlgrenska University Hospital, area 4, and has a clear coordination mission for the entire Västra Götaland region. The organization consists of the laboratory medical activities at Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Hospitals in the west, and NU Healthcare.

Clinical immunology and transfusion medicine are organized into six units, four of which are located within Sahlgrenska University Hospital, one at Södra Älvsborg Hospital in Borås, and one at Norra Älvsborg County Hospital in Trollhättan/Uddevalla Hospital.

The transfusion medicine unit at Södra Älvsborg Hospital in Borås has 18 employees, including the blood donation operation, and provides healthcare with blood components and transfusion medical diagnostics.

The available position is part of our on-call operations, with duties during the day, evening, and weekends after an initial training period during the day.

Transfusion medicine in Borås is located in an integrated lab together with Clinical Chemistry and Clinical Microbiology. Together, we are about 100 employees.

Job responsibilities

We perform blood group serological examinations such as blood grouping, antibody investigation, direct antiglobulin test (DAT), and compatibility testing using various techniques. The work also includes sampling and blood donation tapping.

About you

We are looking for a licensed biomedical analyst for transfusion medicine in Borås. Experience from previous work with transfusion medicine is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have experience with blood donation and have venipuncture skills.

You are expected to have good collaboration skills to prioritize tasks together. You have a respectful and good attitude towards blood donors, clients, and colleagues, contributing to a good working climate. You need to be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.
