Your Responsibilities

As a food inspector at border control, you will be responsible for inspecting imported food from countries outside the EU. A day at border control involves both administrative tasks and physical inspections and sampling of the food being imported. The job also includes regular dialogue with importers, cargo handlers, and other authorities, such as the Swedish Board of Agriculture and the Customs Agency.

You will be part of the border control team, which consists of approximately 25 employees distributed across our border control stations in Gothenburg port, Norvik port, Helsingborg port, Gävle port, Södertälje port, and Arlanda airport. Stationed in Gothenburg, you will be part of a group of eight people.

Your Qualifications

Experience working with food legislation or public control is an advantage.

As a person, you need to be self-driven and able to make well-founded decisions and initiatives. You are confident in yourself and the decisions you make. At the same time, the position requires strong collaboration skills; it is together with your team that you succeed and develop. Consulting with entrepreneurs and other stakeholders is also a central part of the job, which requires you to be clear and receptive in your communication. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

You should have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as well as the ability to understand and communicate in English. A valid driver's license (B) is required.
