We are Gothenburg City's event and arena company with nine arenas serving as meeting places for culture, sports, and business, meeting places for everyone.

Got Event is facing an exciting development in the field of environment and sustainability, as our operations can make a difference and help ensure that Gothenburg is an attractive and sustainable city to live in and visit.

The position of Environmental Coordinator

The position is placed under the department of Economic and Operational Management, where we are a team of 12 people responsible for the company's governance and follow-up processes. Areas included in the department's operational area are environment and climate, sustainability, contracts, procurement, financial planning, and follow-up. In the role of Environmental Coordinator, you will work closely with other departments within the company and also have external contacts.

Job Responsibilities

Your tasks include:

  • being responsible for driving, coordinating, and developing the company's environmental and climate work,
  • independently and together with others, initiating, planning, and implementing work in areas such as waste management, chemical management, climate calculations, climate adaptation plans, and environmental requirements in construction projects,
  • planning, following up, analyzing, and implementing environmental work in accordance with legislation, guidelines, and the company's operational plan. Conduct compliance checks and plan for audits,
  • educating, supporting, and advising the operations on issues related to the environment, environmental legislation, and climate issues,
  • participating in the work with organizers' sustainability certifications,
  • independently driving and collaborating on projects internally within the company but also within the City, with suppliers and partners,
  • monitoring developments in the environmental and climate area.

Qualifications

We expect you to have a university degree in environmental science or another relevant field for the position. You have at least two years of experience in systematic environmental work with good knowledge of legislation and regulations in the area. You possess strong communication skills. Experience in project management is an advantage, as well as experience in preparing decision-making materials for activities, objectives, and key figures.

As a person, you are driven and have a “doer” mentality. You are responsible and enjoy collaborating and finding solutions together with others at different organizational levels. Curiosity, attention to detail, and a structured approach are highly valued traits. You have a strong initiative and drive and are used to independently planning your work. You are flexible, unpretentious, and have an analytical ability to see the big picture.

Conditions

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date according to agreement.
