We are now looking for our next employee as an environmental and health protection inspector. The Environmental Unit in Orust municipality works for a good environment and safe food based on the Environmental Code and food legislation. The Environmental Unit is part of the Community Development sector and has twelve employees with common goals and strong team spirit.

We work in teams with supervision and assessment, and therefore we are very keen on good cooperation and consensus within the department.

Your tasks

We now offer a position as an environmental and health protection inspector.

As an environmental and health protection inspector with us, you will work with supervision and assessment according to the Environmental Code. The focus can be somewhat adapted according to your knowledge or areas of interest, but what we primarily seek now is within planned supervision. The work includes providing advice to the public and relevant stakeholders, as well as performing inspections and making decisions in official matters.

The work is varied and involves both office and fieldwork. We offer a workplace where development to be a service organization with regulatory responsibility is the focus. You will be part of a group where results, engagement, and a positive atmosphere have a given place. About you

We are looking for someone with a university degree in environmental and health protection or another education that we assess to be equivalent. You have good knowledge of regulatory work, the Environmental Code, administrative law, and can express yourself in speech and writing. Computer skills, digital systems, and tools are a given.

To succeed well in the role, you need to be proactive, attentive, and willing to think outside the box. You see opportunities in changes, take your own initiatives, and come up with new approaches to work-related issues. You express yourself pedagogically and clearly in Swedish in both speech and writing, are skilled at prioritizing, and take responsibility for your work and structure it effectively. You are service-oriented and comfortable in meeting the people you encounter in your work. You also have the ability to understand the customer's perspective while maintaining focus on the assignment.

The work involves many contacts with people, so you need to have the ability to listen and understand, while also being clear in your communication. It is important that you function well in the group while being self-driven. We place great importance on your personal qualities.
