Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who wants a central and varied role in driving and developing our environmental work. As an Environmental Coordinator, you will be an important part of our environmental unit and work closely with our environmental coordinator and environmental strategist. Together, you will drive initiatives that ensure Bostadsbolaget meets both its own goals and the City of Gothenburg's environmental and climate goals.

In this role, you will support the management in environmental issues related to waste, chemicals, and environmental management. You will work closely with our management teams in residential areas and collaborate with several internal departments.

You will also have the opportunity to create engagement in environmental issues, both among employees and tenants through communication, training, and various types of initiatives. The role also includes driving issues related to reduced climate impact, reuse, and a fossil-free housing company.

As part of the position, you will also represent Bostadsbolaget in several environmental-related forums within the city and in our internal networks. You will be part of the Energy & Environment group within the Climate/Purchasing department.

As an Environmental Coordinator, you will work with:

• Strategic waste issues, such as packaging-related collection
• Behavior change related to environmental issues
• Monitoring statistics and working towards set environmental goals
• Chemical management including system administration and follow-up
• Participating in internal and external environmental audits
• Support in waste issues during renovations and new construction
• Internal and external communication on environmental issues
• Environmental work related to climate-smart living
• Coordination and participation in internal networks within the environmental field
• Planning and conducting internal training

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in environmental science or another education or experience that we consider equivalent.

We prefer candidates with experience in environmental issues related to the real estate industry and who feel comfortable working with both strategic and operational environmental issues. If you also have knowledge of waste, chemicals, environmental requirements in procurement, and environmental management, we consider that an advantage.

To thrive in the role of Environmental Coordinator with us, you communicate information and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing. You have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and their different conditions. You can adapt your way of conveying your message to the recipient and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. We also see that you are structured in your work, collaborative, and can change how you work when things change, can adjust your perspective and approach, and see opportunities in changes.
