Food Inspector for the Environmental Department in Tanum

The Environmental Department in Tanum works for a good environment and safe food through supervision and administration according to the Environmental Code and food legislation.

The Environmental Department is part of the Environmental and Building Administration and has ten employees with common goals and a strong team spirit.

We are now looking for a food inspector for a temporary position, who also wants to work with the administration and supervision of tobacco, pharmaceuticals, and low-alcohol beverages in retail.

Responsibilities

You will primarily work with control and administration according to food legislation. The work includes providing advice to the public and relevant stakeholders as well as making decisions in authority matters. The work is varied and involves both office and fieldwork. We offer a workplace where the development of the authority's mission is the focus to become the authority we want to meet ourselves. You will be part of a group where engagement and a positive atmosphere have a given place. The work is independent but will be carried out both individually and in groups. As a person, you are meticulous and have the ability to complete what you have started. The Environmental Department is a small department where we help each other. Other tasks within the Environmental Department's area of responsibility may therefore become relevant, and development opportunities exist if the need arises.

Qualifications

You should be an educated food inspector or an environmental and health protection inspector, or have another equivalent education at the college or university level. Work experience as a food inspector is an advantage. If you have university studies in food legislation or similar, it is an extra merit.

Since the work requires many contacts with business operators and the public, it is important that you are outgoing, positive, and have an easy time expressing yourself verbally and in writing. You are structured, driven, and complete the tasks you are responsible for. We place great importance on social competence, that you are service-oriented, and that you fit into the work team. You must have a B driver's license but do not need to have access to your own car.
