Job Advertisement: Pollen Laboratory at the University of Gothenburg
The University of Gothenburg meets societal challenges with versatile knowledge. With 58,000 students and 6,800 employees, the university is a large and inspiring workplace. Strong research and attractive education attract researchers and students from all over the world. With new knowledge and perspectives, the University of Gothenburg contributes to a better future.
At the Department of Biology and Environmental Science (BioEnv), there is educational and research activity that spans from the ecosystems of the mountain world through forests, land, and waterways all the way out to the sea. In these environments, we work with different biological organizational levels from genes via individuals and populations to communities and ecosystems. We work within ecology, evolution, physiology, systematics, and combinations of these subject areas to understand the significance of both natural and human-created biological systems and changes.
The department's activities are conducted in two different locations: GU's premises in Natrium on Medicinaregatan 7B in Gothenburg and at the Kristineberg Marine Research Station in Fiskebäckskil. The current position is located at the Gothenburg premises.
Project Description
As part of the Swedish Pollen Network, the Pollen Laboratory at BioEnv plays an important role in monitoring and analyzing pollen distribution across Sweden. We collect data from eight measurement stations, from Malmö to Östersund, to create pollen forecasts that help the public, especially those with pollen allergies.
