Environmental and Health Protection Inspector at Partille Municipality

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of the continued development of the environmental and permitting unit where your previous experiences will be valued!

At the environmental and permitting unit, we work to protect the health of the municipality's residents and the environment.

We do this, among other things, through supervision, assessment, and advice in areas such as environmental protection, health protection, food safety, contaminated land, as well as alcohol and tobacco. Currently, there are five employees working with the supervision of alcohol and tobacco, and after this recruitment, there will be seven employees whose main tasks are in the areas of environmental and health protection as well as food safety.

The role of the environmental and health protection inspector is broad and varied. As an environmental inspector, you will have many contacts internally within the municipality and also with the public, customers, and other authorities. You will make your own decisions by delegation, draft service letters and decisions, and provide information, guidance, and advice to entrepreneurs and the public.

Working hours are mainly during the day, but weekend, evening, and night shifts may occur in connection with supervision. Our work is flexible, and there are great opportunities to control how you organize your work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with relevant post-secondary education, for example in environmental and health protection or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You may also have acquired your knowledge through work experience in the field. We consider it an advantage if you have experience working as an inspector. We would also like you to have work experience from a politically governed organization.

The position requires good computer skills and a valid B driver's license.

The work involves exercising authority, and you will have contact with both entrepreneurs and private individuals. Therefore, it is important that you can express yourself clearly in both speech and writing in a pedagogical manner and that you have a good sense of service. You are driven and have good initiative. You take responsibility for your tasks, can work independently, and have a good ability to achieve set goals. Work is planned and prioritized effectively. You should have a good and well-developed ability to collaborate, and work together with colleagues and partners in a responsive manner. At the same time, you must be comfortable setting clear demands when warranted and remain calm and controlled in pressured situations. You will be an important part of our workgroup, and we place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
