The Building and Environmental Administration works on behalf of the Building Committee and the Environmental Committee. Our goal is to be the authority we ourselves want to meet, to make it easy to do the right thing, and to provide the best possible service. About 60 people work in the administration, led by a head of administration and five unit managers. We all work together to make a difference for residents and businesses in Mölndal. The administration has offices in the city hall in Mölndal's city center.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for someone who wants to strengthen our team and work as an environmental inspector with a focus on environmental protection.

This is a varied job, and as an environmental inspector with us, you will be responsible for planning, conducting, and following up on inspections, handling cases, and supervision according to the Environmental Code, with a particular focus on the supervision of environmentally hazardous activities and the chemicals area. An important part of the job is to provide advice and information to businesses and the public.

You will also contribute to our work with continuous improvements and operational development, where we have a particular focus on digitization and sustainability.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a relevant higher education or university degree in the field of environmental and health protection and have good knowledge of environmental legislation, administrative legislation, and supervision within the Environmental Code area.

Experience in supervision and assessment according to the Environmental Code or previous work as an environmental inspector is a requirement. It is an advantage if you have worked with environmental protection issues.

To succeed in this role, you need to be efficient and responsible with a good ability to plan and prioritize. You have high social competence and a professional demeanor that creates trust and respect in contact with both colleagues and the public.

You find it easy to collaborate and actively contribute to a good work environment. Since we work with public authority exercises, it is important that you can express yourself well in both speech and writing and that you have the ability to make objective and factual assessments, set clear requirements, and make decisions.

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. Since the job involves travel, a B driver's license is required.
