Habilitation is specialized health care for adults with autism, intellectual disabilities, movement disabilities, or acquired brain injuries. We provide health-promoting and treatment interventions based on each individual's unique needs and conditions, and we have specialist knowledge of how disabilities can affect daily life, health, and development.

Description

In your role as a psychologist at Habilitering Borås, you will provide specialized interventions to individuals over 18 years old with congenital or early-acquired permanent disabilities that cause significant difficulties in daily life.

The specialization includes both broad and in-depth knowledge in several areas. At Habilitering, we work in interdisciplinary teams with medical and psychosocial expertise. The catchment area for Habilitering Borås includes municipalities in Södra Älvsborg, where the position will be based in Borås. The position will also involve work at our clinic in Alingsås. We are now looking for a licensed psychologist. The position is a permanent full-time employment.

Responsibilities

The tasks are varied and involve assessing and treating to provide patients with the conditions for a better everyday life. We perform interventions that provide the patient and their surroundings with increased knowledge about the disability and its consequences, as well as teaching strategies to manage difficulties. The interventions are primarily given to the patient but may also include consultative interventions to important people in the patient's immediate environment. You will work based on scientifically proven methods and clinical experience, and the interventions will be provided individually or in groups during defined treatment periods. The work mainly takes place in the facility's premises but may also be provided in the patient's environment if necessary.

About you

We are looking for someone who is a licensed psychologist. It is desirable that you have knowledge and experience working with individuals with disabilities. You work knowledge-based and have a good ability to organize and structure your patient work. You have a positive attitude towards working in interdisciplinary teams that involve close collaboration and sharing of knowledge and experiences. You have a good ability to reflect on your work in dialogue with colleagues and management, as well as confidence in making your own professional assessments. We place great emphasis on personal qualities such as responsibility, flexibility, independence, and teamwork skills. A B driver's license is required as the job involves travel.
