We are looking for a strategic buyer for a consulting assignment with one of our clients in the defense industry. You who apply have both a business drive and technical interest, and want to contribute to a project that is crucial for Sweden's and other nations' defense capabilities. The assignment offers a role with great responsibility and long-term impact in a high-tech and international environment.

About the role As a strategic buyer, you will play a key role in a technology-intensive industrial project. You will be responsible for driving procurement strategies and managing supplier relationships from procurement and contract negotiation to delivery follow-up and development. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including production, development, marketing, and after-sales. You are expected to work proactively with business development, supplier analysis, and improvement initiatives in line with both technical and commercial goals.

Must-haves

• Academic degree in economics, engineering, or other relevant field

• At least 3–7 years of experience in strategic purchasing, procurement, or business-related project management

• Experience working in complex, international business environments

• Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, spoken and written

• Experience in negotiation and contract drafting in business strategic contexts

Meritorious

• Experience from defense, aerospace, or manufacturing industry

• Technical understanding and ability to work from a lifecycle perspective

• Experience working in larger organizations with cross-functional teams

• Interest in and experience working with supplier development
