Procurement Expert with Business Area Responsibility

At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are approximately 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!

The agency has received several new assignments, which means we need to expand our team.

The Procurement and Purchasing Unit is now looking for new employees who want to work with us as a procurement expert with business area responsibility, primarily within IT, but other areas may also be relevant.

The main task of the Planning Department is to gather and strengthen the agency's ability for long-term planning and analysis while ensuring work towards common goals. The Procurement and Purchasing Unit is tasked with developing, managing, and coordinating the agency's purchases. The unit is also responsible for providing advice on purchasing and contract issues. The assignment also includes managing and following up on contracts and developing the agency's e-commerce.

The Procurement and Purchasing Unit is responsible for all acquisitions and the category-driven working method within the agency, which is currently divided into different categories based on how the Migration Agency's operations are structured. The categories are divided into different business areas where the procurement expert with business area responsibility manages the contracts within the business area.

The work is based on a holistic responsibility over time, which includes procurements/orders, dialogues, strategic work, and continuous follow-up work in accordance with the Migration Agency's business process. The unit consists of approximately 27 employees.

What does a procurement expert do with us?

As a procurement expert at the Migration Agency, you are responsible for creating conditions for category work by driving and supporting the business process regarding the procurement of goods and services within each category and business area.

The work involves a project management role in the execution of procurements, orders that require renewed competition, and qualified direct procurements.

Your work also includes jointly identifying and analyzing improvement proposals with other operations, creating and anchoring strategies for future needs and businesses, and working with continuous follow-up and efficiency work. You who apply have

• post-secondary education in the fields of law, public procurement, economics, or a corresponding orientation that the employer assesses as equivalent, or education from a vocational college in procurement.
• relevant work experience in independently planning and executing procurements and establishing contracts in connection with completed procurements/orders
• knowledge and experience in the Public Procurement Act
• good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• good data and system skills, as well as experience with procurement tools.

It is also good if you have

• experience of category-based working methods
• experience of IT procurements
• experience in public administration and procurement work at a government agency
• basic knowledge of business law
• experience in sustainability work related to procurement

Our work also places high demands on judgment and a high level of security and confidentiality awareness. Security conversations and some background checks will be conducted as part of the overall assessment.
