Who are we?
The Social Office is an engaged organization that aims to create security and good social services for those we serve in Norrköping. We work with support and assistance for both children, youth, and adults who are particularly vulnerable or in various difficulties.
Together, we are over 1,800 employees.
The Social Office is one of the largest offices in Norrköping Municipality, with a current turnover of 1.8 billion SEK.
The Finance Unit is responsible for financial planning, accounting, follow-ups, and reporting of financial transactions, as well as for the Social Office's closing and budgeting work.
The unit also acts as a support function to the operations in operational planning and follow-up, financial issues, and assists these and the municipality's governing financial function with, among other things, calculations and other materials required for governance, management, and follow-up.
At the Finance Unit within the Social Office, we are a competent team that collaborates to provide the best support and service. We consist of different professions, including the finance manager, two controllers, two economists, financial administrators, and finance assistants.
The workplace is located in newly renovated premises at Vikboplan in Norrköping, close to public transport and the city center!
Your tasks
In the role of controller, you will work broadly and qualified within the financial area. Together with colleagues, you will be responsible for financial management, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and system development, as well as investigations and environmental monitoring. You will act as support to the Social Office's managers and colleagues.
Together with colleagues, you will be responsible for financial management and follow-up, as well as operational analyses. As a controller, you will manage the budget and produce forecasts with follow-up for management and the social committee.
You will perform monthly follow-ups of revenues and costs and manage the investments within the social committee. You will contribute to the closing process in the form of accruals and closing documentation.
You will also participate in various development projects within the office. Together with colleagues, you will ensure the establishment of functioning and effective processes and well-functioning financial routines and reports in PBI for accurate and effective financial follow-up.
You will continuously contribute to the development of routines and processes at both operational and strategic levels. You will support the operations and management continuously with decision-making materials and reporting, as well as analyze revenue and cost deviations with other key figures.
The controller role also includes environmental monitoring to continuously increase possible improvements, efficiencies, and enhanced quality.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with an academic degree in finance and several years of experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis within the public sector. You have good knowledge of municipal or public accounting.
It is an advantage if you have worked within a larger organization and have experience in handling classified information. If you have extensive experience with business systems, we see it as an asset.
As a person, you are engaged and responsible with a burning interest in accounting and operational management.
You have good analytical skills, work in a structured and independent manner while enjoying working in a team to lead development and improvements.
You work towards set goals but are also flexible to changes that may occur in the work.
You have good communication skills and are an experienced system user. You have excellent knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
