We are looking for someone who wants to take responsibility for what happens after death.

Responsibilities

Your tasks will be approximately 75% focused on the funeral operations, responsible for grave maps and grave registers, etc. About 20% of your work will involve communication for both the funeral operations and the parishes, i.e., working with the website, social media, and creating posters. The remaining percentage is for the Church's Funeral Agency.

Qualifications

The majority of the work involves the administration of the funeral operations, where you will also have contact with the public, mainly regarding grave rights issues and maintenance agreements. You need to be systematic and meticulous.

To handle the communication part, you should have good computer skills and an aesthetic sense. The Church of Sweden uses a customized web tool, so you do not need to know HTML coding. However, you need to express yourself well in written Swedish and have a sense for both words and images. Above all, you need to be punctual and, again, meticulous.

In your work at the funeral agency, you will conduct customer visits, coffin placements, viewings, transports, and representation at funerals. You will assist relatives in planning practical details regarding the funeral, such as ordering coffins and coffin decorations, formulating advertisements for newspapers, and similar tasks. You will also handle the deceased, e.g., transporting coffins and being present when relatives wish to see the deceased, known as viewings. Before a funeral, you will arrange floral arrangements, etc., and welcome the mourners and help them settle in. To be suitable for the job, you need to be trustworthy and attentive, have patience, and the ability to lead conversations with clarity and care, and you must, of course, respect all people, whether they are living or not. Working at a funeral agency is special, rewarding, and important. Even though this part of the job is minor, about two cases per month, it is extremely important that you feel and we understand that you are suited for this role, as it involves fellow human beings in a very sensitive situation.

Conditions

Your immediate supervisor will be the cemetery and property manager, and your placement will be at the parish house in Rättvik. Your closest colleagues will be the rest of the administrative staff of the parish, including the CEO of the funeral agency.

A driver's license is a requirement. The position is full-time and permanent. A probationary period may be applied.
