Do you want to work as a Mechanical Designer in a complex environment where every millimeter counts? We are now looking for a designer with a few years of experience who wants to work closely with installation, production, and system integration in advanced underwater platforms. This role suits you if you have a strong technical interest, enjoy understanding how things are actually assembled and work in reality, and thrive on solving practical design challenges in very confined spaces.

Here, you will be part of a competent team working on adaptation, placement, and mechanical coordination of equipment and systems in some of the most advanced marine environments available. Submit your application today – we are conducting ongoing selection!

ABOUT THE POSITION:

In the role of Mechanical Designer, you will work on the physical integration of equipment and systems in marine platforms. The focus is on installations – how pipes, cables, machines, and other technical equipment are placed, interact, and function together in the vessel.

The work involves continuously analyzing and adjusting existing drawings and technical solutions based on real conditions. This may involve redrawing cable layouts, adjusting piping systems, or optimizing the placement of machines to ensure functionality, accessibility, serviceability, and assemblability.

You will work closely with other designers, systems engineers, and production. Therefore, the role requires a good understanding of how design is implemented in practice, from CAD model to finished installation.

The work mainly takes place in a CAD environment and with PLM systems, where Creo and Windchill are central tools.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO:

  • Has a university degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering education
  • Has worked for at least 2 years in a role as a Mechanical Designer (preferable if you have experience with Creo and Windchill)
  • Has some practical background and a good understanding of production, preferably through work in the manufacturing industry
  • Has good communication skills and enjoys collaborating across multiple functions
  • Is fluent in both Swedish and English, spoken and written, as both languages are used daily in the business

It is advantageous but not a requirement if you have a military background.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where the client has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
