Welcome to Sjöviksskolan
Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Sjöviksskolan is a F-9 school that started in 2014, and since then we have grown from the ground up, adding one grade each year. Together, we have laid the foundation for the completed Sjöviksskolan. From the beginning, the after-school program has been important at Sjöviksskolan, and since we received the middle school level, the Club has developed each year. Today, the school consists of grades F-9, after-school care, and a leisure club. The school's management consists, in addition to the principal and administrative manager, of three assistant principals focusing on lower grades, higher grades, and one assistant principal for after-school care, preschool class, and leisure activities. We have a student health team with special educators, special teachers, a counselor, study advisors, a psychologist, and a school nurse. In our large kitchen, we prepare all meals on-site, and we also have an office with a school secretary, caretaker, and IT coordinator. The school's educators are divided into grade-specific working teams. We have about 100 employees at the school.
We have an ongoing project with Visible Learning for the entire school and all pedagogical staff, where we, with support from R&D, develop the school to make learning visible. The after-school staff plays an important role in this project, and together with Learning Leaders, part of the conference time is used for this collaborative work.
In 2019, we moved into our new beautiful school building located at Årstaberg. Close to commuter trains, light rail, and buses.
Your Role
We are looking for an educator who;
- can participate and take an active part in creating good conditions for our students to succeed and feel good
- is good at building positive relationships with young people, which is a prerequisite and just as important as being able to set clear boundaries and lead conflict resolution. You can often also serve as a link between students and other adults
- works together with teachers, after-school colleagues, and the student health team focusing on improving students' goal achievement
- is involved in the daily activities during school, break, and leisure time
- uses their skills to provide students with a meaningful and safe environment and participates in planning and implementation.
Your Competence and Experience
You need to be a qualified teacher in after-school care or a leisure educator with certification.
We are looking for a qualified educator, preferably with experience in after-school teaching and activities. You should have good leadership skills, be able to lead groups of students, but also engage colleagues in the development of teaching. It is important that you value safety and structure in the students' activities. If you have experience in developing value-based work and relationship-building methods, it is an advantage. We are looking for someone who sees the opportunities to influence our students' future.
The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at considering each person's competencies and thus counteracting discrimination.
