The municipal preschool operations with us are the largest in Stockholm City, and we work continuously and systematically with the development of the operations based on the competent child and a learning organization.

Welcome to us

As a preschool teacher, you are employed by Stockholm City with placement in a preschool unit.

As a preschool teacher and employee of Stockholm City, you actively contribute to developing the operations, are familiar with the goals and governing documents of the operations, both national and local, as part of the systematic quality work.

Gröndal preschools are a unit in the Hägersten - Älvsjö district administration with a total of eight preschools, all with beautiful yards and proximity to forests and green areas: The unit includes the preschools Bryggan, Gröndalsgården, Hamngården Karlavagnen, Rosteriet, Sjöbjörnen, Udden, and Viken. The unit is led by a principal, three assistant principals, and an administrator.

Our preschools are places where children have access to a stimulating learning environment with opportunities for various meetings, creative creation, exploration, and challenges that stimulate learning. Working with children's influence and responsibility is an important part of our work. We see the potential in every child and assume that all children are competent, curious, and have a desire to learn.

We place great emphasis on a value-based and positive approach where relationship-building and good meetings with both children, guardians, and colleagues are central.

We offer

We offer you continuous further education within the unit's own network, and as a preschool teacher, you will also participate in teacher forums together with other preschool teachers within the unit. Right now, we are developing our work with pedagogical environments and special education.

Your role

As a preschool teacher, you will be responsible for leading, creating engagement, and participation in the work team. You will plan, practically implement, follow up, and analyze education and teaching based on the curriculum. You are responsible for ensuring that all children are challenged and stimulated in their development with real influence.

You will also:

  • Collaborate with guardians in accordance with national goals.
  • Actively participate in work with active measures and against abusive treatment.
  • Actively contribute to work for child safety.
  • Be responsible for documenting children's learning, follow-up, and analysis.

You will also participate in the preschool's management team together with the assistant principal and other preschool teachers.

Your competence and experience

Necessary education: Certified preschool teacher

Meritorious experience:

  • Previous experience working in preschool
  • Experience working with children in need of special support
  • Knowledge and experience working in School Platform or similar digital systems

Necessary knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of national governing documents such as the Education Act, curriculum, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child
  • Proficient in the Swedish language and good ability to express oneself in speech and writing.
  • Good IT skills in the Office suite and digital meeting applications

Meritorious knowledge:

  • Knowledge in some aesthetic form of expression
  • In-depth knowledge of digital resources and leadership
