You will be involved in the reception in the investigation, treatment, and follow-up of patients with tumor diseases in various stages.

You will be part of a team of different professions that take care of patients both inside and outside the clinic. The Prostate Cancer Center is a collaboration between two clinics at Södersjukhuset, the oncology clinic and the urology clinic, where you will be involved as a contact nurse for urological cancer. You will have the opportunity, together with the ward manager, to start a clinic for sexual health.

At the Oncology Clinic, approximately 200 employees work in various professions, and the operation is characterized by good and close cooperation between different occupational categories. At the clinic, we work in a knowledge-intensive environment where the hospital's value of “for the patient with the patient” guides us in our daily work. Our goal is to provide individualized cancer care of the highest international standard for all residents of Stockholm. Job Description

At the reception, you will work as a contact nurse and be the patient's contact link at the clinic. It is a varied and independent job. You are the person patients turn to primarily for follow-up, information, advice, and support regarding planned and ongoing treatments. The contact nurse has overall responsibility for the patient and relatives throughout the care chain and provides support during normal crisis reactions and facilitates contacts with other professionals.

You will work independently with daily telephone advice, meet patients in connection with medical visits and at your own planned nursing reception, and take care of patients at the reception regarding sexual health.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Registered nurse
• Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1

Meritorious:

• Experience working as a contact nurse and/or in cancer care
• Specialist training in oncology or urology. Previous work with sexual health.
