Description

Söderfjärdsskolan is a municipal F-6 school. The school is beautifully located by Johannesbergsparken with a view of the southern Vaxholm fjord. Approximately 300 students attend our fine facilities, and we, who work in the school and after-school care, number about 40 people. The school also runs an integrated adapted primary school. As a participating employee at Söderfjärdsskolan, you will encounter a great deal of freedom and trust in exercising your professional role while being expected to meet high expectations that fully encompass the entire mission described in the curricula. This means a goal-oriented and responsible approach to learning and values based on good relationships with colleagues, students, and guardians.

To strengthen our preventive student health work, we are expanding our team with a school host/hostess. As a school host/hostess, you work with the aim of increasing safety, student attendance, and well-being.

You have a good ability to work with conflicts and are a positive role model for our students. You have work experience that makes you competent to communicate and engage in dialogue with children. You are outgoing, socially secure, attentive, and confident in yourself. You are committed, driven, and motivated. You should feel comfortable meeting students and be skilled at building trusting relationships.

Job Responsibilities

As a school host/hostess, you have an important role with us. You are an adult role model for the students, tasked with creating a pleasant and safe environment. Your work will take place both in the schoolyard, in the hallways, the cafeteria, classrooms, and in close collaboration with other staff at the school. You will prevent and manage conflicts through dialogue and solution-focused approaches. You will build relationships with students, encourage positive behaviors, and provide a safe support in students' school lives.

Your main tasks are to:

• Detect early signs of insecurity, absenteeism, and ill health.
• Prevent discrimination and abusive treatment and work according to the school's safety plan.
• Be available for students during breaks and be responsible for organizing break activities in collaboration with students and other staff.
• Be an important link to educators, mentors, and other school staff.

Experience and Competence

• Relevant education, for example, in pedagogy and social work.
• We prefer that you have experience working with students in lower and middle school.
• It is an advantage if you have previously held a student support role.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Conditions

The position is a fixed-term employment during VT-25 with a working degree of 50%.
