Norra Ängby School is located in a scenic residential area in the heart of Bromma. We have approximately 690 inquisitive students from preschool to grade 6 and about 90 competent and engaged staff!

Job Description

As a special teacher at Norra Ängby School, you will work together with teachers and student health services to ensure that students receive the guidance, stimulation, and support they need in their learning and personal development. All our students should be given the conditions to develop their abilities as far as possible according to the educational goals.

In your work, you are expected to suggest interventions and adaptations for students in need of this and participate in the establishment of investigations and action programs as well as follow-up and evaluation of these. As a special teacher, you will also work practically to provide students with support measures and teach individually, in groups, and in regular teaching situations. You may also have a consulting and mentoring role towards colleagues, other members of the student health team, and school management, developing in close collaboration with teachers, educators, and school management the support for students' development towards the goals.

You will be part of the student health team at the school and participate in the preventive and health-promoting work at the school so that all students receive adequate support. The work involves many points of contact with students, staff, and guardians.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a teaching license and a special teacher degree with a focus on language, writing, and reading development.

  • Lead and organize the work to create a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and collaboration.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. You are motivated by close collaboration with colleagues, both within and outside the student health team. You have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and are well aware of students' different conditions.

  • Reflect on practical work in a systematic way, both individually and together with colleagues.

You should be able to critically and independently identify, analyze, and participate in preventive work to remove barriers and difficulties in various learning environments. You should be able to independently conduct screenings and assessments. You should be able to design and participate in the work of conducting investigations about special support and action programs and evaluate action programs in collaboration with teachers, students, and guardians.

  • Be meticulous and well aware of goals and quality standards. You place great importance on meeting these.

You should have the ability and knowledge to guide colleagues and parents with the aim of developing the subject-specific work to meet the needs of all students in the organization. You should have a very good ability to collaborate and also be able to analyze difficulties at the organizational, group, and individual levels.

It is an advantage if you have worked as a special teacher for a few years.
