Support Assistant in Social Psychiatry

Within the social administration of Järfälla municipality, there is the area of social psychiatry whose task is to provide support and assistance to individuals with various mental disabilities. Within the municipality, there are several group and service housing facilities where our fantastic staff work to support and help residents create a meaningful and structured life with increased quality of life.

We are now looking for an engaged support assistant for one of our group homes focused on social psychiatry. The position is a permanent employment at 100%, and your schedule will include days, evenings, and every other weekend.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a support assistant, your daily work will consist of providing support to the individuals living in the group home with everyday tasks such as cooking, dishwashing, cleaning, laundry, and shopping. The work will also include accompanying residents to activities and medical appointments. You will also help the user create a structure in their daily life.

As a support person, you will be responsible for establishing and revising the implementation plan and creating routines for those you support. Documenting and maintaining contact with authorities and guardians is also part of your work. We work with low-arousal responses and clarifying pedagogy.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have training as a nursing assistant, preferably with a focus on psychiatry/mental health care education. Previous experience working in psychiatry and knowledge of diagnoses is desirable. You have good Swedish skills in both spoken and written form.

As a person, you are fearless and proactive in unpredictable situations. You are confident in yourself and with the target group. Furthermore, you are attentive, stress-resistant, flexible, and within the framework of written routines, you have the ability to plan, evaluate a situation, and take your own initiatives that lead the resident in a positive direction.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Training in MI (Motivational Interviewing)
• Knowledge of addiction treatment and handling threats and violence in the workplace.
• Driver's license (B)
