Lawyer with a societal interest wanted

Are you a lawyer with a strong societal interest? Have you completed your clerkship at a district court or administrative court? Are you used to - and good at - collaborating? Do you want to work in an exciting environment and contribute to societal development through your legal expertise? Then this is the job for you! The position is a temporary replacement during the regular lawyer's leave of absence, for 12 months with the possibility of extension.

WE OFFER YOU

With us, you will have a challenging and meaningful job in a dynamic environment where the Swedish payment market is in focus. You will have knowledgeable and engaged colleagues and a great opportunity for professional development. A significant part of the work involves collaboration and contacts both internally and externally. The position is located in the payment analysis and innovation unit at the Riksbank's payment department.

WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH US

As a lawyer in the Riksbank's payment department, you will work in collaboration with other colleagues on problem-solving and qualified legal work, such as legal investigations and decision-making documents in the payment area. You will handle cases related to the redemption of invalid banknotes, including assessments and legal advice to the operations, as well as writing decisions, managing appeals, and representing the Riksbank in court. You will also work on issues related to administrative law, public access, and confidentiality. Additionally, you will address other legal matters concerning the Riksbank's broader operations in the payment area, such as cash supply and payment settlement (RIX). The work requires effective collaboration with various individuals and competencies, both internally and externally.

YOUR TEAM

The lawyers in the payment department are gathered in the payment analysis and innovation unit. The unit consists of approximately 20 employees with diverse competencies and is responsible for monitoring and analyzing the payment market and developing Riksbank policy in the payment area. The lawyers in the payment analysis and innovation unit also support the Riksbank's cash supply operations and the bank's payment settlement system (RIX). The department's lawyers closely collaborate with the lawyers in the legal secretariat, who provide legal assessments on strategically and fundamentally important issues. The Riksbank as a whole has around 25 lawyers who meet regularly to discuss common issues across departmental boundaries. Here you can read more about the Riksbank's organization.

MORE ABOUT YOU

Experience in case handling at an authority - especially if it includes decisions that can be appealed - is an advantage, as is experience in legal work within the payment area and/or in banking and finance. Additionally, knowledge of, and preferably experience with, the application of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Act is advantageous, as well as experience in procurement and public access and confidentiality. Experience working in the central banking world, at another relevant authority, or at a law firm is also a plus. As a person, you are structured, meticulous, and self-driven. You can convey advanced legal concepts in an interesting and pedagogical way to individuals without legal knowledge. Your Swedish and English skills are very good in both spoken and written form.
