HR Specialist in Social Educational Environment

Department for Conscription Matters

The Department for Conscription Matters, located in Stockholm, is a centrally placed department that serves as a support function for all units in the Swedish Armed Forces that train conscripts through basic and refresher training. The department provides joint support in the application of administrative and correct handling of the rights and obligations of conscripts according to the Total Defense Duty Act and the Disciplinary Responsibility Act within total defense.

Main Responsibilities

As an HR specialist in the social educational environment, you will work at a strategic level to ensure that the conscription consultant function in the Swedish Armed Forces has the right conditions, tools, and support to conduct uniform, legally secure, and professional social work in line with the organization's goals and with the conscript at the center. This includes, among other things:

  • Acting as a central consultative support to defense branches and units on issues related to the practical application of the conscription law and conscripts.
  • Coordinating and developing the social work conducted during basic training in the Swedish Armed Forces.
  • Being responsible for planning and conducting central network meetings for conscription consultants and other contact points.
  • Actively working to identify and analyze development needs, formulating proposals for recommendations for joint guidelines, routines, and working methods.
  • Monitoring developments in the field of social work with a focus on youth and young adults.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in social work, sociology, behavioral science, or other education deemed relevant by the employer.
  • At least three years of experience in professional social work, preferably in roles related to youth, educational environments, or supportive/motivational work.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of laws, regulations, and directives.
  • Experience in developing working methods, routines, or methods within social work.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in coordinating or supporting professionals in a larger organization.
  • Experience in planning and conducting training initiatives.
  • Experience working within the Swedish Armed Forces.
  • Experience or knowledge of change or development work.

Other

Employment type: Permanent position. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not currently employed by the authority.

Business trips with overnight stays may occur in the position.
