Job Responsibilities

Ongoing construction project with approximately 150-200 transports per day requires careful coordination of both incoming and outgoing traffic. We are now looking for 5-10 traffic guards for a comprehensive and long-term assignment related to the excavation phase and the transport logistics. The assignment starts on January 12.

The work involves significant responsibility for safety, order, and flow in the area. The work will initially take place during the day shift with four active stations, staffed by a total of four traffic guards at a time, which means that a total of six people are needed to cover the rolling schedule and substitutes. There is a possibility that the assignment will shift to two shifts if necessary. The assignment is planned to last for six years, and you will be employed as a consultant at Posti for this assignment.

Job Responsibilities

• Traffic regulation on a single-lane road in close coordination with transports
• Manage time-controlled passage of vehicles according to given schedules
• Control traffic lights via remote control in constant dialogue with other guards and machine operators
• Handling of walkie-talkies and ongoing communication within the work team
• Authorization control of vehicles and the right to deny unauthorized access
• Daily contact with drivers – sometimes involving discussions, which requires calmness, clarity, and some authority
• One of the guards will take on the role of team leader
• Collaboration with the responsible logistics coordinator

Working hours: Daytime
Employment type: Full-time but also room for those who need a part-time job a couple of days a week

Your Profile

Requirements

• Very good Swedish in speech and writing
• English – basic level
• Experience with communication via walkie-talkie
• Ability to work independently and make quick decisions
• Ability to pass a security clearance (security-classified personnel)

Preferred Qualifications

• APV 1.1–1.3 and APV 1.4 (guard/pilot)
• Previous work as a traffic guard, pilot, machine operator, or in a traffic environment
• Experience from larger construction or civil engineering projects
