The Department for Disability and Permanently Reduced Work Capacity administers a large number of social insurance benefits – including assistance compensation, sickness and activity compensation, and compensation for work-related injuries. The legal support area is responsible for the department's reassessment, litigation in court, and legal support for case management and development activities. Together, we form a force and engine in the legal quality work of the department.
We are now looking for a manager for one of our reassessment units. The unit consists of about twenty employees located in several places across the country. As a unit manager, you will be part of the management group of the operational area, together with the operational area manager and your fellow managers. We are in the midst of an exciting development phase, and you will have the opportunity to help shape our working methods and approaches for increased legal quality in case management.
Brave leadership, sustainable workplace, and development work
As a unit manager, you are the manager closest to the employees and the operation. You are responsible for leading and driving the daily work based on the department's mission and goals, where the state value base permeates your work. Through your leadership, you convey clear expectations, follow up on goals, and provide your employees with the right conditions to take responsibility. You have personnel responsibility as well as results and follow-up responsibility for the teams in your unit.
Your unit will consist of about 20 employees working with reassessment and will be located in your area and remotely. Through close leadership, you create the predictability, security, and sustainability necessary for employees to take responsibility and meet the need for change. You create understanding of the context, direction, and the goals the department has set and develop the plans your operation needs. You adapt and exercise your leadership in a way that creates conditions for employees to use their judgment and competence.
As a unit manager, you are a support for the operational area manager and you are part of the management group of the operational area where you contribute with your expertise and engagement. You are responsible for independently and together with your colleagues driving development work in the operational area.
The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper management. Therefore, it is important that you who will work with us have a high security awareness.

It is meritorious if you
- have experience in operational leadership in similar operations
- have experience in production management of case handling
- have experience in leading change and remotely
- have a good understanding of Försäkringskassan's mission
- have experience working with development work in government agencies, preferably within the social insurance area
- have good knowledge of the social insurance system.

A position, permanent, full-time, with start date according to agreement. A probationary period may be relevant. In accordance with Försäkringskassan's security guidelines, background checks will be conducted in this recruitment. Possibility for remote work exists if the work allows. In this recruitment, psychological tests may be used as part of the selection process. Regular travel occurs in the position. Placement locations: Stockholm (Telefonplan) or Gothenburg.
