Gunnebo Cultural Reserve is Looking for a CEO
Gunnebo Cultural Reserve is a unique destination in Västra Götaland. Gunnebo Castle, built between 1782-96, now serves as a museum and is a listed building. Since 1996, surrounding buildings and gardens have been reconstructed according to original drawings and now house various operational areas such as conferences and events, education, café and restaurant, shop, and exhibitions. The cultural landscape contains rich biodiversity, and sustainability is at the core of all of Gunnebo's operations. Gunnebo Castle and Gardens is a municipal company that is a subsidiary of Kvarnfallet, governed by the municipal council of Mölndal.
We are now looking for a CEO for Gunnebo Castle and Gardens - an opportunity to develop the site as a destination and living cultural environment with a focus on long-term attractiveness and increased business acumen!
RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a CEO who, with a modern, trust-based, and business-oriented leadership style, wants to lead the company into the next phase of development, balancing preservation, renewal, and long-term economic sustainability. As CEO, you will lead and develop Gunnebo Castle and Gardens and also contribute to the overall development of the city within the group management of Mölndal Municipality. The CEO is responsible for ensuring that the operations develop towards the goals set by the board and works with both strategic development and operational issues. You will actively work to broaden and deepen collaborations with businesses, academia, and community actors, as well as with the city's own operations. You will have the support of 25 dedicated employees organized under three managers for visitor attractions, sales, and green cultural heritage.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop Gunnebo Castle and Gardens as a visitor attraction and living cultural environment with a focus on long-term attractiveness and increased business acumen
- Work on business development and develop new business and revenue models
- Ensure efficient resource use and a balanced economy
- Develop organization, leadership, and operations towards increased participation, consensus, and collaboration
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with the board, group management, owners, partners, and financiers.
- Increase Gunnebo's visibility and establish contacts with new potential partners and customers in various sectors
- Be a driving force in strengthening the brand as a visitor attraction and cultural arena.
- Be an ambassador for Gunnebo and contribute to the overall development of Mölndal.
- Be a visible and present leader who engages and creates an effective and professional organization
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a clear and communicative leader with a holistic view, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to combine business acumen, operational understanding, and social benefit. Furthermore, we believe that you:
- are strategic and aware of your surroundings with the ability to translate ideas into concrete results.
- have a trustworthy and inspiring leadership style that engages and motivates
- drive development and change in a structured and inclusive manner
- have the energy and drive to develop and renew while creating security and participation within the organization
- build trusting relationships and are a skilled representative for the company in both internal and external contexts.
- have an interest in cultural heritage, sustainability, and community development.
You have:
- education from a university or college
- management experience with full financial responsibility
- experience in business and operational development and change management
- experience working in or with politically governed organizations is an advantage
- experience in developing visitor attractions, events, or similar is an advantage
