Unit Manager for Service Center at Mariestad Municipality

Do you want to help shape the future of the Service Center at Mariestad Municipality? We are now looking for an engaged and driven unit manager who wants to lead our Service Center through an important development journey.

Mariestad's Operations and Service Company AB is a newly established municipal company focused on service and tasked with creating value for the entire Mariestad municipal group. Mariestad's Operations and Service Company will offer services to the municipal group's operations in the following business areas during 2026: service center and municipal guidance, cleaning, operation and maintenance of municipal properties, parks, streets, and ports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the unit manager for the service center, you will be a key person in our company and have overall responsibility for both the operational and strategic work within the business area of the Service Center. You will be responsible for developing both the operations and the employees.

The unit consists of about 10 employees. You will collaborate closely with other managers within the municipal group. Together, we create a service-oriented and development-focused operation for the citizens and businesses of Mariestad.

In your role, you will:

• Lead, coach, and inspire employees in their daily work by being close to the operations and creating good conditions for participation, engagement, and development.
• Drive development and change work as well as digitization together with employees at the Service Center.
• Be responsible for finance, personnel, work environment, and quality.
• Lead and follow up on goals, quality, and results.
• Promote good cooperation with citizens, the board, and the municipal group's operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a confident and unpretentious leader who has a strong commitment to service. You have the ability to see the big picture and think strategically. You are used to leading change and making decisions, and you have a pedagogical understanding that people absorb information in different ways.

You are structured, persistent, and solution-oriented by taking initiative and driving activities forward to achieve results. Your ability to motivate and engage to create a positive work environment is important for success in the role.

We see that you have:

• Relevant post-secondary education, for example in personnel and leadership, IT, communication, or service. The assessment of what counts as relevant education is made by the employer based on the requirements and content of the position.
• Experience in leading and coaching employees in daily operations, preferably in a similar environment.
• Experience with change and development work as well as working in a service-oriented environment where accessibility and professional interaction are crucial.
• Good communication skills in both spoken and written form.
• Good IT skills and an interest in digitization.
