About Bostadsbolaget

Göteborg Stads Bostads AB - Bostadsbolaget - has nearly 25,000 rental apartments distributed across all districts of Gothenburg.

This makes us one of Gothenburg's largest landlords, one of the largest in the public housing sector in Sweden, and an important part of community and urban development.

Together, we are over 400 people working at Bostadsbolaget. Most work in our residential areas closest to the tenants, while others work in support functions. We have more than 20 different professions represented, but regardless of job role, we all work towards the same goal - to create good and safe living environments together with our tenants and other partners.

Our operations are characterized by sustainability, social responsibility, and a strong customer focus. We actively work with our values and want our employees to enjoy going to work.

As a public housing company, Bostadsbolaget is entirely self-financed. We do not receive any financial support from the City of Gothenburg or its residents. The surplus generated is reinvested almost entirely in operations and in our properties. Bostadsbolaget's revenue for 2024 amounted to approximately 2.2 billion SEK, with a result after financial items of approximately 110 million SEK. The adjusted equity ratio was 67%.

The Assignment

As the CEO of Bostadsbolaget, you will play a central role in Gothenburg's urban development and community building. Based on the owner's guidelines, you have the overall responsibility to plan, lead, and develop the company, and you will report regularly to the board of Bostadsbolaget and the management of Förvaltnings AB Framtiden, in which you are also a part. You will lead the company with a conscious and active commitment, where a holistic perspective and collaboration with the city's companies, committees, administrations, and other actors are crucial.

You are responsible for ensuring that the company and its employees contribute to the group's goals in the business plan and develop sustainably and long-term in new production, maintenance and renovation, development areas, social sustainability, environment and climate, as well as management and tenants.

An important part of the role is to ensure that Bostadsbolaget offers attractive and qualitative rental apartments with a wide variety in size, standard, price, and location, so that more people can find a home that suits them. In this way, the company contributes to a sustainable Gothenburg community where the entire city's utility and holistic perspective permeate the operations, and where one-sided forms of tenure that increase segregation are counteracted.

You are also responsible for stable economic development that creates room for long-term investments, while the operations are run efficiently, sustainably, and with community benefit.

As CEO, you are a cultural bearer who creates an inclusive, motivating, and sustainable work environment where employees thrive, develop, and feel proud of their work. You lead with clarity, commitment, and warmth, and ensure that the company can take responsibility for the development of entire districts in close collaboration with the city's various operations and external actors.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a university degree and solid experience in leadership roles in larger organizations. You have experience leading through others, translating strategic goals into clear results, and working in a corporate structure with an understanding of the role of subsidiaries. Experience working under political leadership is an advantage.

With presence and engagement, you lead the organization, create collaboration and strong relationships both internally and externally, preferably with local understanding of Gothenburg.

Your Profile

As CEO, you lead with clarity, commitment, and with the company's values at the center. You are a present and warm leader who creates security and stability, sees each employee, and builds strong relationships at all levels. You are brave and innovative while anchoring decisions with employees, the board, and partners.

You act with integrity and vision, see opportunities where others see obstacles, and lead with both warmth and professionalism so that every employee feels seen, respected, and significant. You are patient and persistent, clear and communicative in your leadership, and goal- and results-oriented.

Experience in public housing, the public sector, change projects, or the development of organizations and operations within property management is an advantage.
