Description
At the operations and maintenance department, we are responsible for supervision, repair, and operation of outdoor environments, buildings, and installations over time, ensuring good technical status and satisfied tenants.
The department is also responsible for conducting inspections required by authorities and contributes to the development of energy-saving measures.
The energy and indoor environment business area consists of approximately 74 employees distributed across four units, whose primary task is to deliver efficient maintenance of the installations and energy savings that the management has at its disposal. This is done both through purchased services and in-house.
Job Responsibilities
Through a development-oriented, trust-based, and close leadership style, you will be responsible for and lead one of our units within the energy and indoor environment business area. The unit is geographically located at Lillhagsparken in Hisingen. As a unit manager, you have personnel, work environment, and budget responsibilities and work towards a good, sustainable, and healthy work environment for all employees of the unit. You drive the operations within established financial frameworks and work towards achieving the business area's set goals. You are part of the management team of the business area and drive issues with your management colleagues based on a shared view of the business. As a unit manager, you, along with your management colleagues, will work towards a more efficient and cohesive urban development process from a city-wide perspective. You work with a process-oriented and customer-focused approach with a strong development focus. You also promote a transparent collaboration culture in the City of Gothenburg and within your own administration.
You will lead an engaged team consisting of property technicians, operations technicians, operations engineers, energy engineers, and energy coordinators, as well as compliance with OVK and pellet boilers, where your contributions will be an important part of the operations. Through a coaching approach, you ensure that employees understand their assignments. You create conditions for your employees to perform effective work and develop the operations by clearly distributing tasks, communicating, guiding/supporting, motivating, following up, and providing feedback. As a manager, you work towards a good, sustainable, and healthy work environment where you create conditions for employee development and ownership.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a university degree at least at the bachelor's level. We see that you have experience in leadership, working with work environment issues, and knowledge of economics. For this position, you need to have general good computer skills and a B driver's license.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience in change management and leading through change
- Completed leadership training or experience in developmental leadership
- Experience in the real estate industry and event-based operations
- Experience and knowledge in energy efficiency, energy monitoring, and property automation
- Knowledge and/or experience in maintenance assessment and planning
- Experience in project management within the HVAC and/or real estate industry and the experiences this entails; fundamentals of project management methodology, basics of LOU, and contract law.
To succeed in the role, your leadership must be characterized by a change-oriented approach where you see opportunities for change and create situations where new ideas and proposals can be developed. You are motivated by clearly defined goals and have the ability to translate these into concrete actions. As a person, you are comfortable in various social contact areas. Additionally, you have the ability to oversee your own area of responsibility and place the significance of your own operations in a larger context.
Conditions
The position is temporary until 2026-12-31.
As an employee of the City of Gothenburg, you are subject to general service obligations under the Total Defense Duty Act.
