Project Strategist for Upplands Väsby Municipality

We are looking for a strategic and communicative project strategist who wants to play a key role in the co-location to a new municipal building and the implementation of the municipality's new workplace strategy.

The move to the new municipal building is planned for autumn 2026. Before that, a lot of preparatory work is required as the municipality's administrative services and services are to be gathered at one address. About us

Upplands Väsby Municipality is in an exciting phase of development. We are creating modern and accessible premises for employees and visitors to the municipality. We are looking for someone who wants to support us in the project of preparing and planning for the co-location to a common municipal building. The project includes project managers, sub-project managers, project coordinators, architects, and development leaders.

About the position

You will report directly to the office manager of the municipal executive office but work on behalf of the project manager and as an important part of the team for the new municipal building. Your role includes planning and preparing for the co-location to a common municipal building in close dialogue with the business. A lot of focus will also be on providing employees with the right conditions to succeed in an activity-based environment. You will, among other things:

• Conduct needs analyses together with various operations in the municipality, as well as compile data and insights as a basis for decisions.
• Maintain close dialogue with the business before the co-location to ensure a good working environment and good service to citizens.
• Write reports, current situation descriptions, and recommendations to project management and the municipality's management group.
• Plan and conduct workshops, information meetings, and training to increase understanding and create engagement for the municipality's new strategy.

The project group collaborates closely, is flexible, and unpretentious as tasks shift between operational work and strategic planning during certain periods.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree that the employer deems appropriate
• Experience in strategic development of workplaces within the public sector
• Previous experience in business development

It is advantageous if you have experience working on larger projects with a strategic responsibility, preferably within the public sector.

As a person, you are structured and used to working in processes that require a high degree of coordination and accuracy. Furthermore, you are collaborative and solution-oriented with good social skills, which for us means that you take participation seriously and ensure close dialogue with the businesses. Being creative and agile in finding ways forward in handling complex issues is a personal trait that we value highly.
