Airworthiness Officer

Are you a structured and analytical person with an interest in aviation technology and airworthiness? Then you might be the right person for the role of Airworthiness Officer with us in the Test and Evaluation Air department. In this position, you will work alongside experienced colleagues and contribute to an important mission where flight safety and accuracy are at the center. You will play a key role in ensuring that our flight systems meet all requirements and that permits and regulations are followed correctly. Your work has a direct impact on the organization and is an important part of Sweden's operational capability.

About the Position

As an Airworthiness Officer, you will be responsible for handling cases related to airworthiness. You will participate in the development of instructions and guidelines for the organization, review technical documentation, and compile decision-making materials for flight permits. You will document and report information to relevant parties, disseminate current permits, and follow up to ensure they remain valid. In case of deviations, you will assist in the handling process and also play an important role in keeping the military aircraft register up to date. The position involves responsibility, variety, and opportunities for development in an environment where quality and precision are central. The role also includes responsibilities such as reviewing new designs of devices and being part of independent reviews of requirement closures.

The position is located in Linköping. Travel may occur in the role.

About You

We are looking for someone with a technical education at the high school level or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as comparable. You do not need to have worked directly with airworthiness before, but you should have a technical interest and the ability to understand regulations and structured working methods. To succeed in the role, it is essential that you can easily understand and interpret technical publications in both Swedish and English. A basic requirement is that you hold a B driver's license.

Experience in aviation technology, test management, technical service, or other activities where one works methodically with technical documentation is advantageous and can provide a good foundation for the role. It is beneficial if you have knowledge of airworthiness work or military/civil regulations such as RML or SE-EMAR. Experience in flight testing is also advantageous, and we would like you to have worked within continued airworthiness (CAMO) or in aircraft design (DO).

You will work in our Test and Evaluation area, which is responsible for verifying and validating the material that FMV delivers to the Armed Forces. This means checking that FMV has received what was ordered and that the system can be used as intended.

The Test and Evaluation Air department operates within the aviation arena. We work with verification and validation of aviation-related products, primarily on military platforms such as Gripen, transport aircraft, and helicopters. The goal of our operations is to support other FMV departments with subject-specific expertise and lead operations within verification and validation.
