Your Role

In this role as a systems engineer, you will work with various types of radio systems and communication. This may involve voice communication with civilian airspace or military command and control. It also includes tactical data links where information is shared to gain a better situational awareness. The workgroup has many projects ongoing and more exciting projects coming up. Together, you will work to develop new features in Gripen's communication system.

We are looking for a technically competent and self-driven engineer who wants to work with systems development in the area of "Communication and Tactical Data Links". In this role, you will contribute to developing and maintaining advanced data networks to enable effective communication between different types of aircraft and military systems.

Your main tasks, depending on your interests and skill set, include:

Function development through requirements specification and software development.
Collaboration with international subcontractors to ensure technical cohesion and integration of their systems with our solutions.
Work in simulators to verify and test system connections and functionality.
Documentation and reporting, where you manage and ensure that information from both subcontractors and users is accurate and meets requirements.

In this role, you will work both independently and in close collaboration with our team as well as with those we interface with. You will have the opportunity to contribute to both individual and collective results together with your knowledgeable and unpretentious colleagues.

We test fly functions in simulators and rigs to ensure that the software works when the aircraft is ready to fly and perform missions.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with an interest in systems work. Here, you have the opportunity to be involved in the entire chain from requirements formulation together with customers and pilots, to design and implementation. We seek someone who enjoys working with systems development.

Desired qualifications:

Engineering degree or equivalent education in a relevant technical field.
You are independent, proactive, and have a strong ability to work in a team where you can take responsibility and collaborate to solve complex problems.
Ability to express yourself clearly and concisely in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

Examples of advantageous experiences:

Experience working with systems, electronics, or hardware, preferably within the defense industry or related fields.
Experience in programming/software development.
Experience with radio systems and measurement systems.
Experience in requirements specification, preferably in a tool such as Doors.

We are interested in both those with extensive work experience and those who are recent graduates or about to graduate.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
