The position of planning architect is located in the community planning unit, which is part of the community building sector.

The sector works, in addition to community planning, with issues related to construction and environment, emergency services, and safety and preparedness. The community planning unit has 12 employees where the planning architects work closely with other employees within the unit, such as development engineers, traffic strategists, GIS engineers, nature conservation coordinators, and traffic engineers.

Your future tasks

You will primarily work on establishing detailed plans and will also participate in other investigative work related to community building issues in the municipality. Your tasks include, among others:

• Physical planning, - establishing and processing detailed plans, planning programs, including work on renewal and change of existing areas/plans.
• Be responsible for and drive entire planning processes from preliminary study through consultation and review, etc., to the completion of the municipality's detailed plans.
• Preparation of documents in collaboration with consultants and developers.
• Citizen and authority contacts – for example, handling feedback, answering questions, and citizen dialogue.
• Prepare materials for political decisions.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a university degree as an architect, planning architect, or other competencies and experiences that the employer deems equivalent. It is an advantage if you have a few years of experience in physical planning and similar work in or for municipalities. We want you to have good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act and relevant parts of the Environmental Code.

The planning work takes place in a process with many contacts. Therefore, you must be able to collaborate easily with others and communicate, build trust, and express yourself well in speech and writing. It is important that you are service-oriented and engaged and feel a responsibility for your projects to be completed. As a person, you are meticulous and can structure your work independently. You are also outgoing and attentive with the ability to see things from different perspectives. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

You are used to working with GIS and digital planning production, and it is an advantage if you have knowledge of Geosecma/Gaida and ArcGIS Pro.

The position involves some travel, and a valid driver's license (B) is required.
