Mechanical Designer

We are now looking for a mechanical designer who wants to help shape the future solutions in the aviation sector. With us, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and varied projects that span the entire lifecycle of military aircraft – from new construction to modification and maintenance.

About the position

As a mechanical designer, you will play a central role in developing design documentation for installations in aircraft. You will work with the entire chain – from the moment assignments come in until airworthiness documentation is produced.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, design, and installation documentation that can be prepared for procurement or in-house manufacturing. You will review drawings and designs, prepare verification reports to ensure compliance with requirements, and work closely with production. Additionally, you will provide design support for both internal and external inquiries and follow up on design assignments regarding planning, quality, and costs.

The position is located in Linköping, and travel both within Sweden and internationally may occur.

About you

We are looking for someone with a university degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent competence acquired through experience. You have several years of practical experience in mechanical or electromechanical design and a basic understanding of strength analyses. Furthermore, you have documented knowledge in drawing standards and experience working with CAD tools, such as SolidWorks or equivalent. You are proficient in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written, to easily understand and produce technical publications. A valid driver's license (B) is also required.

It is advantageous if you have experience in mechanical design for aircraft according to EASA/SE-EMAR Part 21, knowledge of design rules for aircraft structures, and experience in mechanical design of electrical installations or industrialization. Knowledge in interpreting electrical schematics is also a plus.

Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences and are looking for someone who is self-driven and takes responsibility for their assignments from start to finish. You are structured, which allows you to manage both details and the big picture in complex projects. Your initiative helps you drive work forward and find solutions when challenges arise. You have good collaboration skills and create a constructive partnership with colleagues and production. Additionally, you are clear in your communication, which is important when producing technical documentation and reports in both Swedish and English.
