Music Teacher Wanted for Jokkmokk's Culture School

Do you want to inspire the next generation of musicians and create creative opportunities for children and youth in Jokkmokk? We are now looking for one or more committed and creative music teachers for our culture school! Jokkmokk's culture school is a creative meeting place for children and youth where we offer teaching in music and other artistic expressions. We work to strengthen students' self-esteem and give them the opportunity to develop their talents in a safe and inspiring environment. The culture school is part of the culture and leisure department and collaborates closely with, among others, the library and youth center to create a vibrant cultural life for Jokkmokk's residents.

We are now looking for a music teacher to strengthen our team with a start date of 2025-02-03. The position can be adjusted between 20-100% depending on your skills and availability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a music teacher at Jokkmokk's culture school, you will:

• Teach students individually and in groups in piano, singing, guitar, and/or bass.
• Plan and lead lessons where students can develop their musical abilities in a playful and engaging way.
• Participate in the planning and execution of concerts, theme nights, and other events where students can showcase their progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop the culture school's activities.
• Document students' development and maintain contact with guardians.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a background in music, preferably through music education or equivalent experience.
• Is confident in teaching singing as well as guitar or piano.
• Has a desire to develop and adapt teaching based on students' conditions and interests.
• Has experience working with children and youth, or a strong interest in creating engagement and joy in music.
• Is creative, responsible, and accustomed to working independently.

It is an advantage if you:

• Can play and teach other instruments.
• Have experience in ensemble leadership and/or music theory knowledge.
