We are looking for resource educators/student assistants for Smed and Central School, including adapted primary school in Pajala.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Resource educators/student assistants support children and students during the school day. The support can be pedagogical, social, and physical in nature. This may involve supporting students/groups of students pedagogically (e.g., explaining a task an extra time) or supporting students/groups of students socially (e.g., helping the student build relationships with classmates during breaks).

The work includes monitoring the student's interests and enabling the student to solve their own situations.

Communication and collaboration with teachers and work teams are part of the job responsibilities. Co-planning with teachers, participating in subject planning and pedagogical planning is fundamental to the support, especially if the support is pedagogical in nature.

A resource educator should work to ensure that students are included and participate in activities to some extent, while also being ready to take the student to another room to, for example, increase a student's ability to concentrate.

A resource educator/student assistant needs to be informed about the student's situation and develop their competencies as needed. They should also learn more about learning models and engage in collegial learning with their own and other professions within the school.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have the ability to create good relationships, are clear in your working method, and can work in a structured manner.

You are persistent and can maintain structures. Knowledge of low-arousal responses and special education is advantageous. You are flexible and have a good ability to collaborate.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience from school and working with students.

A high school diploma is a requirement.

According to the Education Act, a criminal record extract from the police must be presented when employed in school activities. Applications are made via polisen.se
