JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to work in an organization where you have the opportunity to make a difference in people's daily lives? We are now looking for a support pedagogue within daily activities and two support pedagogues for two of our group homes within LSS.

As a support pedagogue, you will be an important part of creating a meaningful and developing everyday life for people with various disabilities. In your role, you will work to ensure the quality of implementation plans and support and guide your colleagues in the pedagogical work with the users. This includes contributing to the development of documentation and implementing and strengthening pedagogical methods and approaches. The work also involves driving the pedagogical work with methods such as clarifying pedagogy, low-arousal responses, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). Work with challenging behavior may occur.

Within daily activities, we offer a creative and social environment with a focus on activity-based work. Here, participants have the opportunity to explore and develop their interests in music, art, media, exercise, and other stimulating social activities. The work is mainly scheduled during the day, but evening work may occur, and it may also involve weekend work based on specific needs of participants.

As a support pedagogue in a group home, you will support and develop individuals with disabilities towards a well-functioning everyday life based on an implementation plan. The work includes support, motivation, and structure in daily tasks, assistance and support with personal care, leisure activities, and social contacts. Working hours consist of days/evenings/weekends/on-call. We work with annual working time and have full-time as the norm.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a pedagogical or behavioral science degree or another post-secondary degree with relevant orientation for the target group. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and mental disabilities, as well as experience with clarifying pedagogy and low-arousal responses. We also appreciate if you have the ability to play an instrument or can otherwise contribute with creative activities such as music, art, or drama, as this is valued in our organization.

As a person, you have a genuine interest in working with people. Through a safe and stable approach, good communication, and respectful interaction, you build trusting relationships and collaborations with both participants and colleagues. You are flexible in your thinking and working style, and you easily adapt to changes. We also appreciate if you are driven, curious, and open to developing both yourself and the organization.

In the work at the group home, you will support individuals with needs for assistance based on physical, neuropsychiatric, and intellectual disabilities. Challenging behavior occurs and needs to be prevented and managed professionally. Knowledge of low-arousal responses, experience with challenging behavior, TAKK, and clarifying pedagogy is advantageous in these homes.

You also need to have good skills in the Swedish language for communication and documentation. Since travel is involved in the position, a B driver's license is required.
