Treatment Pedagogue at SiS Youth Home Nereby

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS youth home Nereby operates in Harestad and Bergsjön. We conduct differentiated and high-quality school, care, and treatment work. The operations involve a variety of professions, such as teachers, treatment pedagogues, psychologists, nurses, and more. SiS youth home Nereby accepts both school-age and non-school-age boys and girls with psychosocial issues, as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse.

Job Description

Do you want to help create life-changing transformations for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue with us at SiS youth home Nereby is a meaningful opportunity for you. We are now looking for a temporary treatment pedagogue for one of our departments for girls in Harestad, Kungälv. As a treatment pedagogue, you will work in a team with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you will be responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you will work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in daily life. With your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our routines and assist in ensuring that daily life runs smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. Being a contact person is also one of your tasks. The job may also involve mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule, including day, evening, and weekend shifts.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help individuals in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are self-assured and have an easy time building relationships with both young people and other staff members. You possess good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

Requirements:

  • Degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or equivalent education from a university.
  • Driver's license (B).
  • Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with individuals in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry, HVB, or LSS care.
  • Experience from client-facing positions in the Prison and Probation Service, e.g., correctional officer.
  • Training in care and social services.
  • Experience working with our target group (e.g., work with girls, LVU, etc.).

Employment:

The position is a temporary contract for one year, starting in mid-January 2026.
