We are currently looking for someone who wants to be a part of our wonderful team and work as a personal assistant in Vålberg.

What does the position entail? 

The client is a 5-year-old boy who lives with his family in Vålberg, Karlstad. The boy has autism, an intellectual disability, and lacks spoken language. He primarily communicates through body language and sounds, and needs an assistant who can interpret his signals, complement and enhance communication, and help him navigate through daily life. 

In this role, you will be close to the boy in his everyday life and provide support in everything that relates to his day. This may involve assistance with dressing and undressing, personal hygiene, and meals, but also creating a safe and stimulating daily routine through play, routines, and presence.  The boy has a high activity level and requires that the environment be adapted to his needs. There is a significant need for supervision and support in preventing dangers. As an assistant, you need to be alert, secure, and present in every situation.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is confident in themselves, engaged, and attentive. We prefer that you have great patience and the ability to be personal while acting professionally.  You have an interest in the person behind the disability and are driven to create good conditions for the client.

We would like you to:

• have a genuine interest in helping others.
• be able to understand and make yourself understood in Swedish.
• have a driver's license, and preferably access to a car.
• be able to work flexible hours - days, evenings, and weekends.
• have experience with autism.
• have experience with AAC (alternative augmentative communication).
• have experience in care and support (this is a plus, but not a requirement).

Employment type: on-demand

Scope: as needed, with a chance for a potential shift.

Start date: by agreement.

We apply individual salary setting and have a collective agreement. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Before a potential employment, you must be able to prove that you have the right to work in Sweden by showing that you have citizenship within the EU/EES or a valid work permit.
