The dermatology care is regional and includes the dermatology and STI clinic at the Central Hospital in Karlstad, as well as treatment clinics in several locations in Värmland.

We are now looking for a social worker for a fixed-term position of about one year.

Your Responsibilities

As a social worker, you are an important resource at the dermatology and STI clinic. We offer you an interesting and stimulating job in close collaboration with other professionals.

As a social worker, you primarily assist patients with psychosocial support. The counseling treatment is tailored to the patient's needs and reasons for contact and mainly consists of supportive, advisory conversations, crisis treatment, processing conversations, and/or motivational conversations.

The purpose of counseling is to strengthen opportunities and mobilize resources for the individual to handle external and internal stressors. The social worker at the dermatology and STI clinic has a shared assignment between counseling support and contact tracing.

The social worker works with contact tracing of sexually transmitted infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis according to the Infection Protection Act (SmL), which is done within five working days. You also work with preventive efforts in STI issues and collaborate internally and externally.

Opportunities for external supervision once a month are provided, as well as participation in the network for social workers within somatic inpatient care.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or other education that the employer deems equivalent. It is an advantage if you are a licensed health care social worker. Experience in contact tracing is a plus but not a requirement. You have an open view of humanity, are engaged, and interested in participating in the development of the organization. You are independent, responsible, and have a good ability to collaborate. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, where we value high social competence and a good attitude.
