Welcome to Arvika Municipal Group!
We are glad that you are interested in working with us! Here in western Värmland, among vast lakes and lush forests, there is a strong glow that spreads warmth and light. The glow is our vision and guiding star. Today, approximately 2,700 competent employees work in the Arvika Municipal Group. Welcome to join us!
Job Responsibilities
Do you want to be part of the well-established operations of the Adult Unit and work with colleagues who have extensive experience in the profession? Do you want to conduct treatment in groups and individually based on the 12-step program? Do you also want to help us develop our operations to better meet the needs of our residents?
If so, this is the right position for you! We are now looking for a dependency therapist or treatment assistant for our outpatient care Omnibus.
As a dependency therapist/treatment assistant, you will be part of the Adult Unit's team, which consists of four social workers, two treatment assistants, two dependency therapists, and a unit manager. The work is based in our outpatient care Omnibus. Together with your dependency therapist colleague and the unit's treatment assistants, you will be responsible for conducting treatment activities for individuals with harmful use and dependency issues. You will provide treatment in groups and individually for adult men and women with various forms of dependency issues such as alcohol, drugs, or gambling. The 12-step program will primarily guide your work, but there will also be room for Motivational Interviewing (MI), relapse prevention, outreach, and preventive approaches, as well as administration.
You will work closely with your colleague in outpatient care and the rest of the team, as well as your manager. You will encounter individuals with psychiatric disabilities, as well as issues related to violence and homelessness. You will also be out in the field, including at our low-threshold housing Ridstigen, and you will conduct outreach activities, such as home visits to our clients. The entry to services through the adult unit can vary for our clients, as some services can be accessed without assistance, while others require a social worker's assessment before services can be granted.
The position is 75% but during a project period from 2026-2028, the position will be expanded by 25%. This means that in addition to the above responsibilities, you will have extra responsibility for driving operational development concerning outreach activities, support for relatives, and certain housing issues.
Qualifications
You are a trained dependency therapist or treatment assistant, or you have other education that the employer deems appropriate.
You need to have experience in treatment work with adults, preferably in both group activities and individual support. It is a plus if you have experience in treatment work within the framework of the 12-step program, preferably based on Recovery Dynamics. If you do not have that, you should at least be interested in working with the program. The treatment work at the outpatient care Omnibus involves a significant amount of lecture material, so you need to have experience speaking in front of groups and you should enjoy it. If you have training in Motivational Interviewing (MI), that is a plus, as well as training in Relapse Prevention.
You should have professional experience with all the target groups that the Adult Unit meets beyond harmful use/dependency: domestic violence, social psychiatry, and certain housing issues. We also prefer that you have experience in fieldwork with people in vulnerable situations.
If you have personal experience with harmful use/dependency, it is desirable to have undergone treatment for yourself and to have several years of sobriety/drug-free living afterward.
Competencies
As a person, you are stable, proactive, and structured. You demonstrate good judgment and have a high level of personal maturity. Good collaboration skills are required as they are the foundation for cooperation with external parties and the basis for a continued positive climate in the workgroup as well as for our clients. The ability to create and maintain relationships is important, and you need to be able to see the bigger picture regarding work in general and in relation to our clients. Since the unit and thus the outpatient care Omnibus is constantly evolving, you need to be aware of the importance of quality.
If you have personal experience with harmful use/dependency issues, it is desirable that you have undergone treatment for yourself and that you have several years of sobriety/drug-free living after treatment.
The position involves some driving, so you need to have a valid B driver's license.
Personal suitability and maturity will be decisive in the recruitment process.
Welcome with your application!
