Are you an engaged and creative person who is passionate about working with children and youth? We are now looking for two leisure leaders – one permanent position and one temporary position for about a year.

As a Leisure Leader, you will have the opportunity to lead and support our visitors in their leisure activities. You will play a key role in their development by creating safe and inspiring environments where everyone can thrive and grow.

In this role, you will:

• Initiate and lead various activities that promote play and learning.
• Build strong relationships with both children and parents to ensure a positive experience.
• Work in a team with other leisure leaders to plan and implement meaningful activities.
• Have a holistic view of children's needs and interests, allowing you to adapt activities to reach everyone.

Our meeting places should offer forums where influence, equality, and belief in people's abilities are fundamental principles. Our operations are also HBTQI-certified.

The goal is to make every moment in our operations a learning and joyful experience.

Job Responsibilities

As a leisure leader with us, you will play a crucial role in children's and youth's leisure activities. You will plan, organize, and implement stimulating and creative activities that engage and inspire our visitors. Your work is not just about leading activities, but also about building relationships and creating a safe environment where children and youth have the opportunity to influence our operations.

• Develop and implement varied and creative activities for different age groups.
• Create an inclusive atmosphere where every child and youth feels welcome and valued.
• Work in a team with other leisure leaders to ensure high quality within the operations.
• Adapt activities to participants' interests and needs, and be responsive to their opinions.
• Collaborate with parents and other stakeholders to build strong relationships and good communication.
• Follow up and evaluate activities to continuously improve our operations.
• Work to strengthen children's and youth's initiative-taking and growth as individuals.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is passionate and committed and who is eager to create meaningful activities for children and youth. To be considered for the position, you need to have a leisure leader education or a degree in another post-secondary pedagogical education focused on children and youth. You also need to have a B driver's license and good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in open leisure activities, have a coaching approach in working with children and youth, and experience working on various projects.

• Creative – you think outside the box and come up with new, exciting ideas for activities that make the leisure operations unforgettable.

About Karlstad Municipality

The Culture and Leisure Administration is responsible for the municipality's swimming and sports facilities, leisure centers, park play areas, libraries, and art in public spaces. We manage Alsters Herrgård – Gustaf Fröding's memorial estate, the cinema Arenan, Skaparverkstan, Youth House, and Senior House.

Our approximately 240 employees create good conditions for sports, culture, and community life.

The area of operation Meeting Places includes the municipality's leisure centers, park play areas, activity houses, Senior House, Youth House, Kronoteket, Leisure Bank, and the sports hall Fröding Arena.
