About the Job
You will work as an environmental analyst/environmental analysis specialist and as the ArtDatabank's expert on lichens. Your work includes gathering, compiling, and analyzing facts about the characteristics, distribution, ecology, status, and trends of species. You will, among other things, work with red listing, conservation actions, and making knowledge about species accessible.
You will be part of the terrestrial ecosystems unit along with other experts on terrestrial species and habitats. You will participate in investigations, assignments, consultations, and other communication projects. You will also be the contact person within your area of responsibility towards other experts, authorities, consultants, non-profit organizations, the public, and the media.
Your Background
You have a university degree in ecology/biology. You have advanced competence in cryptogams with specialized knowledge of lichens. A good knowledge of Swedish and Nordic natural conditions, ecology, general species knowledge, environmental status, and threats is a prerequisite for the position. You have documented statistical and analytical skills and the ability to interpret and analyze data from various sources. As a biologist, you have a fundamental understanding of taxonomy. You have good collaboration and communication skills, are unpretentious, and find it easy to create and maintain networks. You understand the importance of working analytically, goal-oriented, and structured, and you have a good ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish and English. Personal qualities will be of great importance.
Meritorious
It is meritorious if you have documented experience in conservation work at an authority, with a consultant, or equivalent. Documented experience in red listing, conservation directives, environmental monitoring, and inventories of species and habitats is also meritorious. We would like you to have good contacts and experience working within or in close collaboration with authorities, other conservation actors, and researchers. Knowledge of other organism groups and GIS competence is also meritorious. Relevant doctoral education is meritorious, and if you have a PhD, you will be employed as an environmental analysis specialist.
