The Environmental and Community Building Administration is centrally located in Enköping in a beautiful environment by the river and Klosterparken. We offer a varied work environment in a hybrid setting where you can split your time between on-site work and remote work.

At the environmental department, we actively contribute to creating a sustainable society and work daily to promote good health and the environment for the residents of Enköping. We conduct supervisory work, provide information and advice to residents and businesses, and contribute strategic knowledge to the municipality's own processes.

We are divided into five workgroups: environment and agriculture, small sewage systems, health protection, food, and permits, as well as administration. In the food group, we currently have five employees, three of whom work as inspectors for food and drinking water, and two as permit administrators in the alcohol and tobacco area. We now see a need to strengthen the group with one more person!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an engaged and knowledgeable food inspector to join our team! In the role of inspector, you will work to ensure that food businesses comply with food legislation and EU regulations to protect consumer health. You will make assessments, make decisions, and provide support to businesses while contributing to the development of our operations.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Planning and conducting inspections and audits of food facilities to ensure compliance with legislation.
• Investigating complaints, tips, and suspected food poisonings.
• Following up to ensure deficiencies are addressed.
• Answering questions from the public and providing support to businesses in the food sector.
• Participating in inter-agency cooperation to combat food-related crime.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is an educated food agronomist, environmental and health protection inspector, food engineer, or nutritionist with good knowledge of food legislation, or has other education that we assess as equivalent. It is important that you have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and we expect you to be familiar with using computers. A B driver's license is required for the position. Experience as a food inspector is an advantage, as is experience in the food industry and knowledge of the Administrative Procedure Act and authority exercise. It is also an advantage if you master another language besides Swedish and English.
