Researcher
Do you want to work with research in e-health, supported by competent and friendly colleagues in an international environment? Do you want an employer that invests in sustainable employee relations and offers secure, advantageous working conditions? Welcome to apply for a position as a researcher at Uppsala University.
The position is located in the e-health and health data research group at the Department of Women's and Children's Health. The Department of Women's and Children's Health (KBH) is an international and multi-professional institution focusing on health and welfare. The global health perspective is always present, and we collaborate across professions and clinical areas, both in education and research.
The e-health and health data research group is led by Maria Hägglund and studies the implementation and use of e-health and new technologies in healthcare and for self-care.
Job Responsibilities
Health informatics is an interdisciplinary research field that encompasses research focused on how digital solutions can be used for self-care and within healthcare and care to improve health and/or care quality. The area includes studies on needs, design, implementation, and evaluation of e-health in various contexts, with many different stakeholders, and a range of research methods.
The person we are looking for will work on various research projects, including focusing on patients' access to their records online, and how patients can take a more active role in identifying and managing inaccuracies or missing information in their records. Job responsibilities include collaborating with already involved researchers to oversee recruitment and participation; contributing to the collection of both quantitative data (primarily survey studies) and qualitative data in the form of observations and interviews; participating in the analysis of collected data; and processing and reporting data in scientific articles. Teaching may also be included in the job responsibilities.
Qualifications
The applicant must hold a PhD in health informatics or a related field (where a combination of IT/informatics and medicine/care is required). Experience with patient involvement in research regarding digital solutions, such as patient portals and patients' access to their records online, is also required. The applicant should have previous experience with both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
Teaching up to 20% will be included in the position, so the applicant needs to have prior experience in this area.
The applicant should have a good ability and interest in working independently and have an excellent ability to express themselves in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability such as flexibility, ability to prioritize, good collaboration skills, quality awareness, and the ability to quickly establish good contact with others.
Desirable/meritorious
Publications in scientific journals or scientific conferences within the research area of health informatics or medical informatics are meritorious, as well as oral presentations at scientific conferences.
About the Position
The position is temporary, lasting 10 months. The extent is 100%. Start date is February 1 or by agreement. Location: Uppsala
For inquiries about the position, please contact: Maria Hägglund, 072 9999 381, [email protected]
