The social worker in the Children and Youth team within the Investigation Group primarily works with investigations according to the Social Services Act and the Act on Special Provisions concerning the Care of Young People.

The team currently consists of nine social workers and one Senior Social Worker. We are expanding the supervisory support and will soon have two Senior Social Workers providing daily support and guidance in the work, as well as an administrator for administrative support. We work based on BBIC with a clear focus on utilizing the individual’s and network’s own resources. You will be part of a workgroup with engaged colleagues with varying lengths of experience within the Individual and Family Care sector. You will closely collaborate with other employees within the Individual and Family Care sector, including the adult team, the open care group, as well as with other municipal and external actors. In the smaller municipality, we have short decision-making paths and we are good at collaborating. In the Individual and Family Care sector, we actively work on the organizational and social work environment to provide conditions for sustainable work life, and expanding the supervisory support is one of several measures underway. You have access to wellness grants and wellness hours. The workgroup has access to external supervision.

Job Responsibilities

In this position, you will primarily work with placed children and foster homes. The work involves, among other things, maintaining contact with children and young people placed in foster homes or care and housing facilities. You will follow up on interventions and are responsible for ensuring that the child/young person’s needs are met through the placement. You will recruit, investigate, and supervise resources such as foster homes. You will work to ensure that the client’s own solutions and resources are utilized by collaborating with the individual, their family, and network. The work also includes collaboration with internal and external actors and participating in the development work within the unit.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in social work, which is a qualification requirement.
• Several years of experience working as a social worker in the children and youth field.
• A desire to develop in your professional role and is curious about broadening your experience and knowledge.
• A willingness to contribute to a good work environment and actively participate in the development of our operations with new working methods and approaches tailored to our clients' needs, the conditions of the outside world, and society's resources.
• The ability to see opportunities in complex social work, is easy to collaborate with, works solution-focused and flexibly, and has a good ability to make decisions.
• A good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
• Personal suitability is of great importance.
