Development Secretary at Malmö Art
Malmö Art offers a fixed-term position as a development secretary. We are looking for someone interested in public space, artistic processes, and exciting challenges!
Job Responsibilities
As a development secretary at Malmö Art, you will be part of a small team working with process management and curation of public art projects throughout Malmö based on a broad understanding of what public art can be. You will closely collaborate with artists, art consultants, other departments in Malmö City, architects, users, and civil society.
Your tasks will involve close cooperation with a wide range of stakeholders, which means curating, producing, and planning multiple art projects, including developing and drafting art programs, writing procurement documents, and conducting evaluations.
As an employee at Malmö Art and the cultural administration, you will participate in a collegial environment that promotes and supports equality, diversity, and inclusion. We place great importance on your personal qualities and the skills needed to complement the existing operations.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree of 180 credits, as well as at least 2 years of professional experience in curation or production in the field.
You have experience in coordination and development within the arts and culture sector, urban planning, or a similar relevant area. We also expect you to be familiar with Office programs and other IT tools relevant to the position.
Experience working in public service/politically governed organizations is an advantage, as well as experience in cultural production and knowledge of public procurement.
You are creative, proactive, independent, and responsible, while also being humble and good at collaborating with various partners. Being solution-oriented, flexible, and having a strong initiative are important qualities for success in this role.
You are structured, pedagogical, and have good administrative skills, as well as being able to write and communicate fluently in Swedish.

Malmö Art strives to promote the development of contemporary art and aims to broaden the concept of public art. We work closely with the city's various administrations to ensure that artistic processes and expressions are integrated into the planning of Malmö, with the goal of making Malmö an attractive art city.
Through the production and management of public art, Malmö Art contributes to creating a vibrant cultural environment and a cultural heritage that reflects both the city and its inhabitants.
We serve as a knowledge support and drive issues related to the development of public art, both locally, regionally, and nationally, while also promoting international exchanges in the art field.
Malmö Art is currently undergoing a transformation journey to strengthen the city's work with public art. Our goal is to engage a broad and diverse audience through our art projects and activities. Essentially, it is about actively contributing to the public space by creating art experiences that touch and engage.
