Your new role 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Controller for a qualified consulting assignment at a larger Swedish company within critical infrastructure (the client is anonymized). You will work as a targeted reinforcement to the existing Business Controller within both the line organization and operational projects. The assignment involves relieving the existing BC in daily operational work while contributing to the long-term development of processes, methods, and governance structures. You will play a central role in a larger development project focused on portfolio management, KPIs, reporting, and improved decision-making pathways.

Your responsibilities will include: - Collecting, analyzing, and presenting decision-making materials of high quality. - Participating in planning, follow-up, and forecasting work within both line and project. - Developing and improving processes, working methods, and reporting structures. - Producing reports and key figures for steering groups and management. - Driving improvement initiatives for more efficient management of the asset portfolio. - Ensuring that information is packaged clearly and pedagogically for different target groups. - Contributing to the update of governing documents, routines, and support processes.

To be successful in this role, you need to

• At least 10 years of documented experience in qualified work as a Business Controller, Financial Controller, or similar analytical role in a complex organization.
• Relevant academic education in economics or finance.
• At least 2 years of experience in portfolio, program, or project management, including follow-up and reporting of investment or development portfolios.
• Good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, as well as at least 2 years of experience in producing decision-making materials and reports for management level.

Strongly meritorious:

•  At least 12 years of experience in qualified controller work in complex or larger organizations.
• At least 1 year of experience in business development.
• At least 5 years of experience working at the interface between line, project, and portfolio, including support to steering and management groups. Experience with UBW (Agresso), Antura Projects, or similar financial systems/portfolio tools.
• At least 3 years of experience from a government agency or regulated activity, where formal decision pathways and documentation requirements are central.
