Assignment Description
You will be a key player in the organization’s largest ongoing IT initiative – establishing a modern, scalable end-to-end logistics platform through a new ERP, new WMS, and an upgraded TMS landscape. As a Business Analyst in Transport, you will work closely with the business, product teams, and architects to translate needs into clear requirements, efficient processes, and sustainable functionality within TMS.
About the Role
In the role of Business Analyst Transport, you are responsible for:
- Identifying, analyzing, and describing business needs within the transport area and translating them into requirements for TMS solutions.
- Supporting the design and further development of the client’s future logistics platform by ensuring that TMS supports transport flows, master data, planning, and order management.
- Documenting and visualizing processes, use cases, and information flows across TMS, ERP, and WMS.
- Being a key contact between the business and IT – facilitating workshops, anchoring requirements, and ensuring that solutions create real value.
- Contributing to test planning, acceptance testing, and quality assurance of new features.
- Working data-driven by analyzing transport data, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting decisions with insights.
Your main responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis & Process Development
- Gathering and structuring business requirements for TMS-related functionality.
- Modeling and further developing logistics and transport processes for both current and future ways of working.
- Ensuring that requirements are traceable, prioritized, and anchored with the right stakeholders.
- Support in Design & Implementation
- Collaborating with solution architects and product teams in developing functional design.
- Ensuring that TMS solutions harmonize with the client’s information model, master data, and system roles in ERP/WMS.
- Writing detailed user stories and supporting teams in their daily work during the development cycle.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Working closely with process owners, transport planners, operations, architects, and external suppliers.
- Driving and facilitating workshops, demos, and anchoring meetings.
- Connection to the current major IT transition
- Actively contributing to joint end-to-end design for TMS, ERP, and WMS.
- Supporting the implementation and rollout of new ways of working through change management and training.
Mandatory Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or equivalent in logistics, supply chain, or transport.
- Good understanding of transport processes, order flows, planning, and master data.
- Experience with TMS platforms and their role in the logistics system landscape.
- Very good ability to analyze, document, and structure information.
- Experience working in larger transformation or implementation projects.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience from FMCG, wholesale, or grocery logistics is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of logistics environments – or a willingness to quickly familiarize oneself with them – is also desirable.
