Your Role

We are looking for someone who wants to help shape the future software solutions within the defense industry. As an area architect for missile software, you will have a central technical and strategic role in creating a common vision and direction for the development of the area's products. You will contribute to establishing common working methods, routines, and technical guidelines that support a sustainable, scalable, and long-term functioning system architecture.

In your role, you will work closely with team architects, development teams, and other key functions within the organization. You will have a holistic perspective on technology and architecture and drive the strategic work of developing structures, system solutions, and technical choices that propel development forward towards common goals.

You will be responsible for creating plans for the area and establishing a cohesive overall picture of how the systems should be designed. This also includes lifecycle management of a common modular architecture and collaboration with other architectural functions to build a common technical platform.

Your Daily Tasks Include:

• Developing strategic plans for the design and further development of IT and software systems.
• Ensuring that IT components and systems are integrated efficiently and seamlessly.
• Continuously monitoring and evaluating new technologies to assess potential implementation.
• Ensuring that systems meet requirements for security, robustness, and scalability.
• Proactively identifying technical obstacles and taking action to minimize risks and optimize development and operational environments.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with at least seven years of experience in software development, preferably within complex or safety-critical systems with a focus on embedded systems and programming in C/C++. You hold a master's degree in computer science, engineering physics, or equivalent and have experience working in an agile environment.

It is a merit if you:

• Have previous experience in the defense industry.
• Hold a certification in IT security, such as CISSP.

Since the role involves collaboration with other locations, you should be comfortable traveling regularly for work.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
